11-- Photograph a scar and write about it.
This scar on my leg is starting to fade so I'm glad I can document it for posterity. Last year when I was in Thailand I went on a boat trip with Dao and Joe. We walked around for a long time trying to get a good deal on a boat that would take us out to one of the islands with a beautiful beach so we could lay around and relax. The sea was rough...very rough, and after we found a boat willing to take us out there we had to walk out into the sea to board the boat...just as I was getting read to climb on board a huge wave came through and rocked the boat! The motor (which was off- luckily) scraped all the skin off my leg- and there I stood in shark infested waters with blood just gushing down my leg. Joe quickly grabbed my hand and helped me into the boat. There was no first aid kit and I didn't even have a towel or anything so I just had to wait it out and let it clot.
The salty sea stung the wound, but was probably good in that I didn't develop an infection! The whole rest of the trip I couldn't wear pants...but I didn't have anything else with me so I had to man up and cope with the pain. It wasn't so bad...but the 23 hour flight home was a real bitch! One of my favorite scars of all time.

#42--- List 5 events from 1984

2. The Apple Macintosh is introduced- the whole world begins to change.
3. My first favorite movie is released- GHOSTBUSTERS. Six years later (after I am born) I have my first kiss with the neighbor boy on the swing-set in the back yard playing Ghostbusters. Twenty-five years later my VHS copy is stolen from my apartment in Milwaukee- I cry about it.
4. The longest game in MLB history takes places between the MILWAUKEE Brewers and the Chicago White Sox! Game lasts 25 innings- it takes place over 2 days with a total running time of 8 hours and six minutes.
5. My mom gets pregnant! The day I am theoretically conceived (October 11) Kathryn D. Sullivan becomes the first American woman to perform a space walk. (Maybe this is why I love space?)
